| From LA, Front Way to Big Bear: San Bernardino Fwy (10) East out of LA past the 57, past
the 15, past the 215 (new name for the 91), take the 30 Fwy towards the Mountains. On the right, look for the 330
Fwy "Mountain Resorts" sign. Take the 330, which goes right up the mountain. At Running Springs, it turns
into the 18. Continue past the Snow Valley ski resort, over the pass, around "Arctic Circle", arriving
at the Big Bear Dam. Turn Right, follow 18 to the Village. The Ski Resorts are just past the village. |
| From San Diego, Front Way to Big Bear: Come up the 15, go East at the 215 (new name for 91).
Turn right at the 10 Fwy, and continue to the 30, 330, 18 as above. |
| From LA, Back Way to Big Bear: San Bernardino Fwy (10) as above. Pass the 30 Fwy, do NOT
take it. Take the Orange St. Exit. Go past the first light to Orange St. Turn Left, toward the mountains, about
10 blocks. Look for Lugonia, State Route 38. Take Lugonia Right toward the mountains, it passes Mentone, the Ranger
Station, Forest Falls, Seven Oaks, Heart Bar Campgrounds, and many other sights. SR 38 ends at Big Bear Blvd. Turn
Left, proceed through Big Bear City, past the Eagle Point, past the shopping centers, and the Ski Resorts are right
in sight, just before the City of Big Bear Lake ("The Village"). |
